• 2 year olds who are not eligible for Working Parent funding may qualify for Two’s Too funding.
• Eligible working parents may access up to 22.5 hours per week AT BEARS HIDEAWAY (other settings vary) of extended stretched funding from 9 months to 5 years of age.
• Funding for children aged 4 is reduced by the local authority during the child’s final term before starting school.
As many of you may have seen in the press, online articles and petitions, Early Education Funding does not fully cover the true cost of providing high-quality care and learning experiences for children.
It also does not fully support the level of staff pay needed to recognise the skill, dedication and responsibility involved in delivering those experiences.
Funding rules are set by the Government, not by the nursery. Any changes we make are carefully considered and are necessary to support the ongoing sustainability of the nursery.
We offer Parents the choice of 2 options at Bears when claiming the funding - an opt in package or an opt out package.
Please note if you meet the criteria for Deprivation Supplement or EYPP you will only pay for food.

Your child will be sent home if we are short staffed – the funding only covers NMW not agency pay at £20+. Once we have exhausted our own contingency plan we will be required to do this as being on ratio is a statutory requirement from the government.
